Getting to the Resources II

Building a successful academic career requires more than individual talent and commitment – it also depends on the right support at key stages of development. Support during and after the academic qualification phase is crucial for fostering scientific excellence, individual growth, and sustainable career paths. During the doctoral and postdoctoral stages, researchers often find themselves at a transition point between training and independent scholarly work. Targeted support therefore encompasses not only financial assistance through scholarships or third-party funding, but also structured programs for disciplinary and interdisciplinary training, mentoring, and international networking. Of particular importance is the strengthening of competencies in research, teaching, project management, and knowledge transfer, in order to open up diverse career opportunities. Even beyond the qualification phase, reliable support mechanisms are needed to facilitate the transition into permanent positions, enable innovative research ideas, and encourage collaboration.

In this context, the doctoral programme at HfG Offenbach is once again hosting an event with expert guests. In what is now the third event in the series, the exchange on various funding options will continue. The focus will remain primarily, but not exclusively, on the period after the qualification phase. This time, the Federal Government’s ‘Research and Innovation’ funding advisory service will join from Berlin to present its services and current funding programmes (Filip Stiglmayer). Further expertise will be provided by Ulrike Grünewald, Head of the Office for Knowledge Transfer, as well as Ute Pichl and Jana Wardag (International Office).
